Tech Tip: It's back! And definitely better than ever. The all new Altra Torin 9 is here with a brand new P35X midsole, a dual-density setup with a soft, springy core (much like their EGO™ P35 midsole) wrapped in a firmer outer layer to add some extra stability for a smooth yet controlled ride. This new Torin still maintains a 0mm heel to toe drop, and a wide toe box. The upper gets a new heel shape and a touch less weight. To top it all off, this new Torin features a Vibram® XS DURA outsole, giving it a significantly tougher and grippier tread (Altra says 8.5% grippier than the Torin 8). A GORE-TEX® Invisible Fit upper keeps rain, puddles and slush out.

The Torin 9 switches from EGO™ MAX to a new dual-density P35X midsole, drops the stack from 30mm to 28mm, saves about half an ounce, and adds a full Vibram® XS DURA outsole for better grip and durability.

Is the Altra Torin 9 zero drop?
Yes. The Torin 9 has a 0mm drop, so your heel and forefoot sit level. New to zero drop? Build up gradually over a few weeks.

Is the Torin 9 GTX waterproof?
Yes. It uses a GORE-TEX® Invisible Fit upper, which makes it a great winter and rainy-day road shoe for Kansas City sidewalks, trails and parking lots. It comes in regular width only.
