Saucony swapped the PWRRUN PB foam from the Speed 5 for PWRRUN PBX, a beaded PEBA foam that's firmer underfoot but noticeably more responsive, giving you extra pop without feeling mushy. A redesigned full-length nylon speedplate ditches the old winged shape for a smoother, more flexible ride through toe-off. Stack height climbs to roughly 38mm in the heel while the drop holds steady at 8mm, and somehow this version comes in lighter than the Speed 5 despite the extra cushion, about 8.1oz for men's in a size 9. The engineered mesh upper stays light and breathable, and XT-900 rubber up front keeps grip solid on tempo days and race day alike. Still the same jack-of-all-trades super trainer, just faster and lighter about it.
