Sticking with the tried and true, the wave rider 30 features the classic Mizuno Wave Plate that runs across the entire shoe. That Mizuno Wave Plate is paired with the Mizuno Enerzy NXT Foam that was featured in the Mizuno Wave Rider 29.
The upper of the shoe was upgraded to a knit like fabric that keeps the foot snug but yet breathable at the same time.

The Mizuno Wave Rider 30 is a highly versatile shoe that can be worn for easy short runs, long runs, or even some uptempo runs. There feels like there is more of that Enerzy NXT Foam in the updated shoe that in the previous version but still snappy enough. I think this shoe is great for a lot of people but I would not recommend for those runners that like a highly plush shoe that you can sink into the foam.

Tech tip- Who needs a surfboard when you got the Mizuno Wave Rider 30. The 30th anniversary of the wave rider is here and it is bringing some serious heat with it. The midsole now even more plush midsole cushion now consists of two different foams. The top layer being Mizuno's nitrogen infused ENERZYnxt to give you a bouncy and plush ride, and then an EVA bottom layer to add some stability. Those specs are sitting at 42.5mm with an 8mm drop. Of course it still has a Mizuno waveplate to give you that smooth surfing feel. The real magic of this shoe comes in with the price and weight. This shoe still weighs under 10 oz, weighing in at 9.4oz and only costing you 150 dollars. That is a steal for a shoe of this caliber.
