Tech tip: EGO™ MAX midsole. Vibram® Megagrip outsole. GORE-TEX® Invisible Fit lined upper. 0mm heel to toe drop. Wide toe box. What else can you ask for in a trail runner? Altra has a formula with the Timp, and it works. Get both the comfort of the Torin and the ruggedness of the Lone Peak wrapped up into one shoe. With a waterproof upper. Mid-height ankle coverage makes it a true run-or-hike hybrid. Version 6 adds 1mm of cushion, a roomier toe box and a more flexible upper than the Timp 5.

Don't buy this shoe if... you've got a road marathon on the calendar.
Timp 6 vs Timp 5: what changed?
The Timp 6 adds 1mm of stack (30mm), a roomier toe box and a more flexible, redesigned upper. It's a touch heavier, with the same EGO™ MAX foam and Vibram® Megagrip outsole.
Altra Timp vs Lone Peak: what's the difference?
The Timp has more cushion (30mm of EGO™ MAX vs 25mm on the Lone Peak) and a slightly more secure Standard FootShape™. The Lone Peak is lower, roomier and more ground-connected.
Is the Altra Timp 6 Mid GTX waterproof?
Yes, it uses a GORE-TEX® Invisible Fit membrane. It breathes less than the mesh version, so it's best for wet, muddy and cold-weather days.
