Guru tip: Dual density foam.
Tech tip: Get speedy with the Mont Blanc Speed, a trainer built to move fast on the trails. It features a dual density midsole setup: a cushy EGO™ MAX outer rim and a poppy inner core made of EGO™ PRO. The typical Altra features are all there too. You will get a roomy toe box and a zero mm heel to toe drop. Everything about this shoe is fast, including the outsole. Underfoot is a full tread of Vibram® Megagrip Litebase, the same Vibram® grip with a ton of weight shaved off. Last but not least, there is a TPU StoneGuard™ sandwiched between the midsole and outsole to offer maximum protection.
Buy this shoe if... you need speed.
Don't buy this shoe if... you want max cushion.
Mont Blanc Speed vs Mont Blanc Carbon?
Both share the EGO™ PRO and EGO™ MAX foam combo and Vibram® Litebase grip. The Carbon adds a Carbitex® carbon plate for race-day pop; the Speed swaps in a TPU StoneGuard™ for protection at a lower price.
Is the Mont Blanc Speed good in mud?
It shines on dry to moderately technical trail and gravel. Its lower-profile lugs aren't built for deep mud, so reach for a Lone Peak 9+ or Timp on sloppy days.
Is the Mont Blanc Speed zero drop?
Yes, 0mm drop with 29mm of cushion.
