It features a full length Carbitex® carbon fiber plate that flexes with the ground and snaps back as you push off. The midsole is made up of an EGO™ PRO core and an EGO™ MAX outer layer to offer comfort and bounce. On top of all of that, or should I say under all of that, is a Vibram® Megagrip Litebase outsole to give you the maximum amount of traction. Zero drop and a roomy toe box keep it unmistakably Altra.

Is the Altra Mont Blanc Carbon zero drop?
Yes. It's one of the only carbon-plated trail racers with a 0mm drop and a roomy toe box.
Is a carbon plate worth it on trail?
The plate gives the most at faster efforts: tempo runs, races and runnable climbs. If most of your miles are easy, the Mont Blanc Speed gives you a similar ride without the plate.
What races is the Mont Blanc Carbon good for?
Runnable trail races from 10K to 50K on dry to moderately technical terrain.
