Is the Altra Lone Peak 9 zero drop?
Yes. The Lone Peak 9 has a 0mm heel-to-toe drop and 25mm of cushion, so your heel and forefoot sit level like they would barefoot. If you're coming from a traditional 8 to 12mm drop shoe, ease in with shorter runs and hikes for the first few weeks.
Is the Lone Peak 9 GTX waterproof?
Yes. It uses a GORE-TEX® Invisible Fit membrane to keep water out on wet trails, dewy grass and slushy winter runs. Expect it to run warmer than the mesh Lone Peak 9.
Lone Peak 9 GTX vs Lone Peak 9+ GTX?
Same GORE-TEX® protection and fit. The 9+ GTX upgrades to a Vibram® Megagrip outsole for extra wet-rock grip, while the 9 GTX uses MaxTrac™ rubber and costs less.
GTX vs WP: which waterproof Lone Peak should I get?
GTX models use a GORE-TEX® membrane. The Lone Peak 9 WP Low and WP Mid use Altra's own PFC-free waterproof construction and lean more toward hiking.
