Is the Altra Lone Peak 9 zero drop?
Yes. The Lone Peak 9 has a 0mm heel-to-toe drop and 25mm of cushion, so your heel and forefoot sit level like they would barefoot. If you're coming from a traditional 8 to 12mm drop shoe, ease in with shorter runs and hikes for the first few weeks.
Is the Lone Peak 9 WP Mid waterproof?
Yes. It uses Altra's own PFC-free waterproof construction rather than a GORE-TEX® membrane. It keeps out puddles, wet grass and light snow. Like any waterproof shoe it breathes less than mesh, so it's best for cool and wet seasons.
Lone Peak 9 WP Mid vs Lone Peak Hiker 3?
Both are mid-height and zero drop. The WP Mid is waterproof for wet and cold hikes; the Hiker 3 is non-waterproof and breathes better for warm, dry trail days.
