The Newbie Run Club is a Couch to 5k training plan with a dedicated coach gearing you up for the Hospital Hill 5k. This program is built for first-time runners and walkers who have either never completed a 5k, has had some time off from running, or has participated in one event but want support completing a second.

THE NITTY GRITTY

Here are some important logistics:

Each Running Well Store location will be hosting a Couch to 5k training program gearing you up for your first 5k. Choose to join the Northland, Lee's Summit or Mission Newbie Run Club.

At 6:30pm on Wednesday, March 27th head to The Running Well Store in Mission, KS (6009 Johnson Drive) for the FREE Newbie Run Club informational meeting. This centralized informational meeting will include details about the run club in your area. In addition we will provide a 15 minute informational presentation on footwear, socks and have a free sock raffle (raffling off 36 pairs). At the information meeting you and your Run Coaches will discuss running (or walking!), why you set the goal, any challenges you face and anything else relevant to your success. We encourage you to come and ask all the questions! You will not be training during the informational meetings as your training officially will start the week of April 1st.

During the 9-week training period there will be two weekly group runs per location

NORTHLAND : Thursdays at 6:30pm and Sunday mornings at 7am.

LEE’S SUMMIT: Wednesdays at 6:30pm and Sunday mornings at 7am

MISSION: Thursdays at 6:30pm and Sundays at 7am

We encourage you to come to both runs at your local TRWS location, but you can discuss with your coach what is best for you and your schedule. The clinic dates will be announced closer to the season.
