Just as Kansas City natives love to argue about who has the best barbeque, the best running shoe falls into that same criteria. Every foot is unique. There are going to be some shoes that fit an individual perfectly, where some people feel a little off in the same shoe. The most efficient way to determine the best running shoe is to come into The Running Well Store. When you get fitted at the store a TRWS GURU who is trained to complete a stride analysis and help you determine what shoe is right for your biomechanics.
The shoes at Running Well are designed to withstand the physical demands that individuals place on their shoes every day. The products we sell are top of the line quality when it comes to arch support, cushion, and design. These shoes are meant to feel comfortable from the first mile and until the last. We highly recommend our customers focus on the core features of the shoe before the color combination. Information that the customers give us about the shoe itself can help our GURUs determine the best fit for that customer. Our Guru will give analyzed feedback with information as “this hits my arch weird” compared to “I dislike the color purple”.
Full-priced shoes can be returned within 30 days of purchase for store credit or exchange. In order to receive the store credit, we must be able to look your purchase up in our system, or have the receipt.
During those 30 days, you can completely test out the footwear. We want you to run and experience the shoe. If you have rubbing, or another negative experience, bring it back and we will swap it out for another pair.
While the statement may be true for dress shoes or casual sneakers, running shoes are not under this criteria. Running shoes are supposed to be your Cinderella glass slippers. There should be no irritation or rough feelings from the get-go; the best shoes feel like you do not even have a shoe on at all. In the store, if you are feeling irritation inside the shoe, then it is going to be the only thing you think about on your run/walk.

If you have a pair of shoes you have been wearing, bring them in so we can look at the wear pattern and talk about what is working and what is not working with those shoes.
Of course! Walk right into the store and one of our trained GURUs will greet you immediately. We have trained every employee in the store to give a stride analysis and fit you for your perfect shoe.
And neither is 50% of our customer base! The Running Well Store delivers a comfortable, personalized fitting shoe that is for running, walking or working. What you do with the shoe is completely up to the user. The amount of cushioning and support in running shoes translates perfectly to any work environment that entails standing and walking on hard surfaces all day. Whether the footwear is for everyday use, working, or going on a jog with friends—The Running Well Store has the perfect shoe for you.
The timeframe for the life of shoes depends mainly on what the person is doing in the shoes. Most high-quality running and walking shoes should be replaced between 300 and 500 miles. For an athlete covering 20 miles per week, the footwear should last about six months. However, if you notice joint pain or other irritations or issues that were not there when you first got the shoes, then most likely they are worn out. Remember, shoes breakdown on the inside before the outside. If your shoes look like they have received a lot of love – then it is time for them to be replaced!
